„organ“ is the follow-up album of the Swiss experimental duo Zimmermann / Lienhard. They have been active since 2018 exploring the similarities and differences of acoustic accordion and electronic oscillator sounds, playing with psycho-acoustic effects and blending in ways that leave audiences repeatedly astonished. Through the many years of playing together an impressive delicacy and intimacy of their improvised interplay has emerged. All of this can be witnessed in their live performances, as well as on their new cassette release „organ“ (Wide Ear Records 075). The five tracks were recorded during two days in December of 2022 at Morphine Records Raum in Berlin and catch the melancholia of the city’s long, cold and grey winter. The tracks are dedicated to different organs with their respective places in our bodies as well as their individual purposes and cover different sonic palettes and moods from gentle to brutal, nervous to contemplative. On „organ“ the two artists propose their own take on the blooming genre of ambient and drone music. They refuse the static and dull and instead build ever-evolving sonic landscapes while navigating noisier waters. It is an album to dive into, to listen deeply.
