Seit 2006 besteht dieses hochvirtuose Duo, dessen radikale Musik nichts an Aktualität verloren hat. Endlich, 13 Jahre nach ihrer letzten LP „Bock“, hat Azeotrop zwei Livekonzerte aufgenommen und daraus ein neues Album gestaltet. Frenetisch, laut und mit äussester Hingabe spielen Blum und Zumthor eine Musik, die sich dem Lärm der Zeit annimmt. Eine Hochenergiemusik, ein unermüdliches Insistieren prallen Lebens. Ihre wahnwitzigen Improvisationen sind mit Kompositionssplittern von Zumthor und Blum durchsetzt. Es entsteht Musik mit scharfen Konturen und klarem Ausdruck. AZEOTROP operiert an den physischen und musikalischen Grenzen. Diese Grenzgebiete bergen musikalische Territorien, welche sich nur mit der Hingabe und Erschöpfung in der Art eines Derwischtänzers erkunden lassen. This highly virtuoso duo, whose radical music has lost none of its topicality, has been around since 2006. Finally, 13 years after their last LP "Bock", Azeotrop have recorded two live concerts and turned them into a new album. Frenetic, loud and with the utmost dedication, Blum and Zumthor play music that takes on the noise of the times. A high-energy music, a tireless insistence on life. Their crazy improvisations are interspersed with fragments of compositions by Zumthor and Blum. The result is music with sharp contours and clear expression. AZEOTROP operates at the physical and musical boundaries. These border areas contain musical territories that can only be explored with the dedication and exhaustion in the manner of a dervish dancer. A statement for music with the greatest possible distance from the mainstream.
