Flagrant Délit have been playing and experimenting as a duo since 2014. Their debut album, released on Friday, 14/05/2021, contains four original compositions:
Verluegsch mi is about five encounters with people who have an effect via their bodies, gazes, tensions and language. Here, the creative individual, crazy about playing with building blocks, is less tangible, cannot be reduced to a single characteristic, is simultaneously a single component and a whole, tumbles towards death and, in so doing, is life. This individual appropriates the act of falling in love, the disintegration of the moment or the dissolution of the counterpart, such that their own colourful foolishness finds liberation and lightness.
With Ballerinas, Dalia Donadio establishes a link to her last album, Dalia Donadio’s Poem Pot Plays Pantano (2020, WER), on which she exclusively set texts by poet Daniele Pantano to music. The Ballerinas text is also an inspiration – in terms of not only content, but also form, rhythm and sound.
The Invisible Downfall is both a recitative and a hymn. A quiet invisible downfall is juxtaposed with the fullness of life, the power of nature and the vitality of human existence. The subliminal threat of stagnation and emptiness wants to be immediately exposed, broken and overcome. (Und die Bewegung darin) extols spaces and places. Its themes are memory, longing, expression, belonging, verbalisation and embodiment.
Martin Perret (b. 1988) lives in Lausanne and Berlin as a drummer (Hellmüller Trio, Lucy Kruger & The Lost Boys, Samuel Leipold Quartet), composer (L’Anderer) and teacher. Dalia Donadio (b. 1987) lives in Zurich as a musician (Schwalbe & Elefant, DD’s Poem Pot, Through States of Matter), organiser and singing instructor. As the duo Flagrant Délit, they are interested in music that resides in the in-between – with gestures that are openly apparent, and content that is emotionally and intellectually moving.

Flagrant Délit spielt und experimentiert als Duo seit 2014. Am Freitag, 14.05.2021 erscheint auf Wide Ear Records ihr Debutalbum mit vier Eigenkompositionen:
Verluegsch mi handelt von fünf Begegnungen mit Menschen, die ihre Wirkung durch ihre Körper, Blicke, Spannungen, ihre Sprache entfalten. Der Chlötzli-Narr ist dabei weniger fassbar und nicht auf eine einzige Charakteristik zu reduzieren - er ist Einzelteil und Ganzes, purzelt dem Tod entgegen, ist auf diese Weise Leben. Ihm ist das Verluege, das Zersetzen des Moments oder das Auflösen des Gegenübers zu eigen. Sein farbiges Narrendasein findet dadurch Befreiung und Leichtigkeit.
Mit Ballerinas spannt Donadio den Bogen zu ihrem letzten Album Dalia Donadio‘s Poem Pot Plays Pantano (2020, WER), auf welchem sie ausschliesslich Texte des Dichters Daniele Pantano vertonte. Auch der Text Ballerinas ist nicht nur Inspiration auf inhaltlicher, sondern ebenso auf formaler, rhythmischer und klanglicher Ebene.
The Invisible Downfall ist Rezitativ und Hymne. Einem stillen, unsichtbaren Untergehen wird die Fülle des Lebens, die Kraft der Natur und die Belebtheit des menschlichen Daseins gegenübergestellt. Die unterschwellige Bedrohung der Stagnation und der Leere möchte sofort aufgedeckt, gebrochen und überwunden werden.
(Und die Bewegung darin) besingt Räume und Orte. Themen sind Erinnerung, Sehnsucht, Ausdruck, Zugehörigkeit, Versprachlichung oder Verkörperlichung.
Martin Perret (*1988) lebt als Schlagzeuger (Hellmüller Trio, Lucy Kruger & The Lost Boys, Samuel Leipold Quartet), Komponist (L’Anderer) und Pädagoge in Lausanne und Berlin. Dalia Donadio (*1987) lebt als Musikerin (Schwalbe & Elefant, DD’s Poem Pot, Through States of Matter), Organisatorin und Gesangslehrerin in Zürich. Als Duo Flagrant Délit interessieren sie sich für Musik, die im Dazwischen liegt, deren Gestus sich offen zeigt und deren Inhalte emotional und intellektuell bewegen.
